Hi Everyone,

It's been a long time since our last Email blast. Happy New Year to all of you!!!
We have a few larger Fundraising Events coming up in March and April. We have scheduled our January, February and March Playgroups. The 4th Annual Rescue Reunion is coming up as well near the end of March.
We have some other news regarding some of our other ongoing fundraisers as well.
Let's get started...
FUN & INTERESTING FACTS of 2012
  • 27 - is the number of dogs that were adopted into loving FOREVER HOMES.
  • 2 - is the number of dogs who became FOREVER Fosters are are in best Foster Homes we could ask for.
  • 10 - is the number of female dogs that were spayed while in our care.
  • 6 - is the number of male dogs that were neutered while in our care.
  • 14 - is the number of dogs who had either nares surgery, elongated soft palate surgery or both.
  • 13 - is the number of rotten teeth that were pulled out of Harley's mouth when he had his dental cleaning.
  • 1 - is the number of dogs who had a double Third Eye Lid (Cherry Eye) Surgery.
  • 15 is the number of dogs who had dental cleaning with extractions.
  • 2 - is the number of dogs who had to have their luxatting patellas corrected. Roxy had to have one knee done twice. THANKS Dr. Sra for all your wonderful work on both Roxy and Squibbs.
  • 2 - is also the number of dogs who almost crossed Rainbow Bridge too early. Cassie and Ralph are very THANKFUL to Dr. Singh and Dr. Tait and the rest of the staff at Southglen Veterinary Hospital for all they did to help them through a traumatic time.
  • 13 is the age in years of the oldest dog who was adopted in 2012.
  • 5 is the age in weeks of the youngest dog to come into BTPRSM's care in 2012.
  • 2 is the number of years that Sasha was in foster care until she was adopted in 2012!
  • $729.15 - is the amount of donations in silver coins and bills that we received since we started our silver coin drive.
  • $1482.36 - is the amount of penny donations that we have received since we started the "Show us your Rolls" campaign.
  • $36,742.09 - is the amount of money that was spent on vetting all our little furry friends in 2012. This included exams, surgeries, vaccines, medications and specialized dog foods.
Thanks to everyone who supported us in 2012. Without all your help we couldn't have helped as many dogs as we could. The vet care we put into every dog who comes into our care is above and beyond. We did lots of fundraising to make up the costs of the vetting as we all know that our adoption fees don't cover the amount of vetting we put into each dog.
From the bottom of our hearts.... THANKS!!
lia sophia Raffle to Support the BTPRSM

Our lia sophia Advisor Jessica McEachern is holding a fundraising raffle for the BTPRSM. We have attached the Fundraising Poster with all the details, but basically you can purchase a ticket for $5.00 and be entered to win $100 worth of lia sophia jewelry of your choice.

Silver and Penny Coin Drive
First of all... THANKS to Everyone who has already donated to our Coin Drives. We can't express enough how much your donations have impacted the lives of the dogs in our care. If they could speak, each and everyone of them would say THANKS.
We STILL want your pennies!!! Loose, rolled, in a jar or in a box. We hand roll all coins donated to the rescue. We don't use the machines that count it for you, and charge a percentage. This way EVERY penny you donate, stays in the rescue. The pennies donated will be put directly towards our vet bill. We have a few expensive surgeries coming up, so every penny counts!!!!!
For those of you who that you use Facebook and would like to follow our two coins driver here are the links:
"BTPRSM wants you to Show us your Rolls" - https://www.facebook.com/events/359719604082795/?fref=ts
At both of these Facebook links you can track our progress on Fundraising Thermometers and see how much money that bag of coins you donated adds up too.
If you would like to donate towards our coin drive, please send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we can arrange pick up/drop off your donation. Pennies can be dropped off (make sure you label them with your name, so we know who to thank) at Southglen Vet (730 St. Anne's Road), or Barks n' Bubbles (1103 Corydon Avenue). Pennies can also be dropped off at our upcoming adoption events, playgroups and fundraising events.

Always Looking for Qualified Foster Homes

Boston Terrier & Pug Rescue of Southern Manitoba are always looking for qualified foster homes to add to our fleet of home and to give our other foster homes a break and to be able to take in more dogs.

Foster homes are the heart and soul of our rescue. So if you have a bit extra love to care for one of rescued dogs then please don't hesitate to fill out an application. We supply food, leash, collar, harness, kennel (if required) and medications (if needed). We also pay for all vetting as well.

You can find the foster application attached to this email or on our website atwww.bostonpugrescuemb.com under “Fostering A Dog”.
Look forward to a *NEW* and *FRESH LOOKING* Website
We are working with website designer Stephanie Nixon to create a New and Fresh website for BTPRSM. We hope to unveil the website in a few weeks so keep watching for updates on Facebook when the new site will be launched. We are pretty stoked about it and hope everyone else loves it too.
As always if anyone has any questions about the above events or posts please feel free to email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Cheers,
Jessica, Rena & Shaila
